Prince Charles Public School
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
To create a safe, equitable, and supportive learning environment where all students and adults can acquire and apply the skills necessary to manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and engage in learning opportunities.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Explicitly teaching students about how the brain functions and how that impacts self-regulation and learning, and provide students with knowledge and skills to independently support their brain in order to self regulate and be ready to learn.
- Give staff and students a common language to discuss conflicts using a problem solving wheel and engage in mindfulness activities to support social-emotional regulation.
- Use restorative practices to help students build and repair relationships and demonstrate empathy toward others.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child all about the concepts of Brain Science.
- Encourage your child/children to use “I” statements when they are upset.
- Check out this resource Stop It, Name It, a universal way of addressing concern.
